Christine Rafin

B.A. 2001, Fordham University
J.D. 2004, cum laude, New York Law School (Law Review Articles Editor, 2003-04)

Christine began her career as an associate with KB&G. After nearly five years with the firm, she joined a boutique firm in its marketing, promotions, gaming and communications law practice, where she focused primarily in the areas of Internet marketing law and sweepstakes law-related litigation, as well as commercial litigation. KB&G was pleased to welcome her back to the firm in 2015 as a partner.

Christine has extensive experience representing affiliate networks, publishers and billing aggregators, among others, in a wide array of matters, including before state attorneys general and regulatory agencies, as well as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Federal Communications Commission and Public Utility Commissions in consumer class action defense in both federal and state courts. Christine has defended clients in private actions and class actions brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the FTC Act, California’s anti-spam law, numerous states’ deceptive marketing laws, as well as in mobile and landline “cramming” litigation. Christine id also frequently quoted in periodicals on these subjects. For example, Christine was quoted in the article, "A New Social World," published in the December 2017 issue of Security Management Magazine. The article can be found here.

Christine regularly counsels clients regarding the TCPA, Telemarketing Sales Rule and the FTC Act and works with clients to fully protect their telecommunications and Internet-related trademark and copyright rights, including by issuing takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. She has extensive experience representing clients in copyright disputes with Getty Images and disputes with, and audit requests of, the Business Software Alliance.

Christine’s practice will continue to focus on complex commercial litigation and arbitration, as well as the rapidly-evolving fields of Internet, mobile marketing and telemarketing law, data privacy and security law, intellectual property law and communications law.

Christine is admitted to practice in New York State and in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is also a member of the New York City Bar Association, the New York State Women’s Bar Association and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.

What Clients Have to Say
Please don’t engage Christine Rafin. If you do, you will find out what I have known for years. She is smart, creative and fast to resolve all legal issues that come across her desk. If this gets around town I won’t be able to get her on the phone in the future. So take my advice and find some lesser attorney and leave my gem alone.

I’m a currency trader. Jack writes aggressive contracts for me that are enforced. He seems to have a crystal ball because he anticipates issues and problems before they arise. He has also successfully represented me in a complex mediation. He got me what I was owed, and for that I am very grateful.

When Jack took on my wrongful termination case, he immediately understood the value of my employment agreement because he writes them himself. He was exactly what I needed in a lawyer. He stood up to a large technology corporation and got me everything I was owed.

For more than 25 years, Michael has been my personal and business attorney. Recently, Michael identified the critical issues in a very unique land use development/re-zoning project and then crafted a very detailed contract which completely protected my interests.

Harry has been my go-to guy since 1994, when he engineered and walked us through a very difficult leveraged management buy-out with great success. I feel very protected with Harry on my side. Regardless of the legal issue, I can count on Harry and his team to help us.
